What this Minecraft seed finder does
Find a Minecraft Java world with biomes and structures you want nearby: a Village for your survival start, Cherry Grove for a building location, or several biomes to explore. Choose a preset or combine your own conditions, then compare matching seeds on the map without leaving the page.
The distinction matters: a seed map answers “what is in this seed?”, while a seed finder answers “which seed contains what I want?”.
How to find a seed
- Choose the Java version you will actually use to create the world.
- Choose a preset, or add biome, structure, terrain-height or flatness conditions.
- Choose whether to search around the world origin, estimated spawn or custom coordinates. Click the highlighted values in each condition to change its distance and other settings.
- Select Find seeds. Browse results with the map arrows or select a seed from All results. Use the star to save a favorite.
- Copy a seed and paste it into Minecraft’s world creation screen using the same Java version. Open full seed map to explore farther before choosing your world.
Choose what should be nearby
Biomes lets you require all or any selected biomes, exclude them, or restrict the sampled area to only those biomes. Biome variety asks for a minimum number of different biomes. Feature finds a minimum number of the selected structure, with an optional biome filter. Feature cluster also limits the distance between every pair of structures in the matching group.
Each condition has its own distance, from 16 to 2,048 blocks. Choose a circle for a radius around your target or a square extending that distance in each direction. All added conditions must match. A nearby biome and a nearby Village do not necessarily overlap; use the biome filter inside the Village condition when that matters.
Terrain Height checks whether the estimated median ground height is inside your chosen Y range. Flatness checks the total height difference and the steepest sampled slope in the area. Terrain is sampled every four blocks within up to 256 blocks of the target; inspect a result on the map and in game before planning a build.
Find villages and other structures
Choose Village, Desert Pyramid, Jungle Temple, Swamp Hut, Igloo, Shipwreck, Woodland Mansion, Pillager Outpost or Ruined Portal from Feature. Village choices include Plains, Desert, Savanna, Snowy and Taiga biome filters with distinct icons. These choices describe the biome at the village marker; they do not identify zombie villages.
Use a small distance for locations close to your target, or increase it if you are happy to travel. Stop at any time to inspect the matches already found. Search more continues the search; changing conditions requires a new search.
How to read and compare results
Select a result to preview its biomes and selected structure markers. Review its matching conditions and jump to a reported location to see where it lies. Save promising worlds with the star, revisit them in Favorites, or use Copy all to keep a list of results.
The preview is intended for quick comparison. Open the full map when you need biome names, coordinate tools, structure filters, terrain estimation or a shareable URL.
Version and accuracy notes
The same numeric seed can produce different results when world-generation rules change. Select the version that creates new chunks, not merely the launcher version you use today. Existing worlds can contain borders where older and newer generation meet.
Biome searches check points at the selected spacing and Y level, so small patches between those points may be missed. This also applies to “only” and “none” conditions: they describe the checked points, not a guarantee about every block. Use closer spacing for a more detailed check. The biome Y setting is not a terrain-height or flatness filter.
Structure markers are predicted locations. Check important builds or routes in Creative before committing to a world, especially with experimental versions or terrain-dependent structures.
Seed finder FAQ
- What is a Minecraft seed finder?
- A seed finder searches candidate world seeds for conditions you choose. Unlike a seed map, you do not need to begin with a seed number.
- Do I need a seed to start?
- No. Choose a preset or add your own conditions, then select Find seeds.
- What if I cannot find a match?
- Try fewer conditions, a lower structure count or a different distance. Search more continues looking while keeping the results already found.
- Are the results guaranteed in game?
- Biome and structure rules are deterministic, but you must select the version that generated the chunks. Experimental versions and terrain-dependent structures should be verified in Creative.
- Can I search near spawn?
- Yes. Choose Estimated world spawn under Search around. You can also use Origin (0, 0) or enter custom X and Z coordinates. The estimated spawn may differ from your exact starting position in game.
- Can I search Bedrock seeds?
- The current seed search supports Java Edition. Use the Bedrock seed map to inspect a known Bedrock seed.
- Where are my favorites saved?
- Favorites are saved in this browser on this device when browser storage is available. They do not sync between devices and may be removed when you clear site data.
- Does the finder search the Nether?
- This finder currently searches the Java Overworld. You can inspect the Nether of a known seed in the full seed map.
