Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find my Minecraft seed?
Open Minecraft, load your world, then type /seed in chat. The seed (a large positive or negative integer) appears in the chat window. Copy it and paste it into MC Seed Map.
Are biome and structure locations accurate?
Yes. The tool uses the cubiomes C library compiled to WebAssembly. cubiomes reimplements Minecraft's world-generation algorithm exactly, so results are identical to what you see in-game.
Which versions are supported?
Java Edition 1.7 through 1.21.5 is fully supported. Each version may generate biomes differently, so make sure to select the correct version in the toolbar. Bedrock Edition support is coming.
Does this tool send my seed to a server?
No. All computation runs in your browser via WebAssembly workers. Your seed never leaves your device. There are no API calls for biome generation.
Why do some structures not appear?
Structure generation depends on the selected version and dimension. Make sure the correct dimension is active and the structure type is toggled on in the filter bar. Not all structures exist in all versions.
Is the map free?
Yes, completely free with no account required.

About this tool. MC Seed Map is developed and maintained by Gio Nui, an independent developer focused on Minecraft tooling. The project was built to provide a fast, privacy-respecting alternative to server-side seed map renderers.

Biome and structure generation is powered by cubiomes by Cubitect, a C library that reimplements Minecraft's world-generation algorithm.
